Metal/Plastic Orthoses Bolton Brothers manufacture a wide range of orthoses. We have a metalwork department and a plasticwork department run by competent technicians. Members of BAPO they are up-to-date with various materials and products that become available. On a made to measure basis we have manufactured items in the past such as the Milwaukee brace, Fischer jackets to the more modern day equivelant in polythene jackets. For patients who need total immobilisation of the spine we produce a total contact plastic shell moulded to the patients individual cast. If bracing the whole spine is unnecessary, then moulded collars or spinal orthoses, using plastics and leather are made for support. We have produced items for all parts of the body. Lower limb orthoses such as the traditional ring or corset top full leg calipers, to the more up to date hip guidance orthosis and gait orthosis used by paraplegic patients.
